The 5th Annual Section on the Business law Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association took place at the Ladi Kwali Conference Center, Sheraton Abuja between 5th to 9th of April 2010. The Conference started off with the a welcome cocktail and the presentation of the George Etomi Center for Strategic Investment and Corporate Governance by the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS).
The Conference was declared open on 6th of April 2010 with a presentation on the Limited Liability Partnerships by the Lagos State Commissioner for Justice. The topic “The Business Environment in Post Independence Africa” was presented by Dr. Gerald Tanyi, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, and Mr. Bode Augustus.
The Interactive Session for the day was the Health segment where Dr Mike Etomi gave a presentation on the “Milestones of your health”, Dr. Yemi Johnson presented Sudden Cardiac Death while Professor Okay Ikpeze spoke on Cervical cancer.
On 7th of April, very eminent and honourable speakers gave presentations on different areas of Law including but not limited to the Arbitration and ADR, Procurement Law and Practice, Maritime Transportation, Aviation, Capital Markets, Energy, Environment and Natural Resources. Mr. Paul Usoro S.A.N facilitated the Communications Session on that day.
The closing ceremony took place on the 8th of April while the participants were treated to a nice dinner by the Chairman, Mr. George Etomi on 9th April 2010. |
